Stylish new digital eyecatcher from Rollei
With its new dt3200, Rollei has launched a compact and powerful digital camera with 3.23 megapixels.
The stylish new camera has a compact metal body and features an ingenious operating principle, allowing the recording of both videoclips and voice commentaries. The Rollei dt3200 is extremely versatile and will also appeal to first-time users of a digital camera. The dt3200 will be available from dealers starting in August of this year. (dpnow comment: no price was included with this press release)
The new 3.23-megapixel camera from Rollei has a 1/2.5" CCD sensor and offers a maximum image resolution of 2720 x 2040 pixels. The popular 3x D-VarioApogon HFT zoom lens f2.8-4.8 covers focal lengths from 5.8 to 17.4 mm, which is roughly equivalent to 35 - 120 mm in 35mm photography. The camera also has a 4x digital zoom. Automatic focusing is possible from 0.5 m to infinity. In addition, there is a close-focusing mode for subject distances from 15 to 50 cm. The fastest shutter speed of the Rollei dt3200 is 1/1000 second.
A high-resolution 1.6" TFT color LCD gives rapid access to a wide range of manually adjustable functions. These include single-frame and continuous shooting, exposure compensation (Auto, Manual, max. ±2.0 EV in 0.5EV increments) and different flash modes (Auto, Forced, Off, Red-eye Reduction and Night Mode). White balance is possible either automatically or manually and offers presets for shade, sun, tungsten light and fluorescent lamps. A self-timer with a delay of 10 seconds helps bring the photographer into the picture too.
Images are saved either to the integral 16MB memory or SecureDigital or MultiMedia cards and can be downloaded to a computer via a USB interface. Power is supplied by a rechargeable lithium battery.
But there is more: In the video mode, brief movie scenes can be recorded with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels and a frequency of 15 to 20 frames per second. A built-in microphone and loudspeaker allow the simultaneous recording of voice commentaries.
