Optimized for use with digital SLR cameras and capable of macro photography with a 1:2 maximum magnification.
New multi layer lens coating minimises flare and ghost, a common problem with Digital SLR cameras.
Engaging the Macro Switch makes the lens capable of macro photography with a 1:2 maximum magnification.
Special Low Dispersion (SLD) glass is used for compensation of chromatic aberration throughout the entire zoom range.
The Sigma Corporation is pleased to announce the launch of the new 70-300mm F4-5.6 DG Macro lens.
It is capable of macro photography with a 1:2 maximum close-up magnification at the 300 mm focal length. The new multi layer lens coating reduces flare and ghost, which is a common problem with digital cameras and also creates an optimum colour balance. The SLD (special low dispersion) glass offers excellent correction of chromatic aberration creating high optical performance throughout the entire zoom range.
A switch converts the lens to macro photography at all focal lengths between 200mm and 300mm offering a minimum focusing distance of 95cm (37.4 inches). In normal mode the minimum focusing is 150cm (59.1 inches) at all zoom settings. Maximum magnification between 200mm and 300mm is from 1:2.9 and 1:2.
A convenient magnification scale showing focusing distances and reproduction ratios is engraved on the lens barrel. A versatile lens that is ideal for close-up work, portraits, sports and nature photography, and all telephoto requirements.
