February 14th, 2005 - Roxio, a division of Sonic Solutions and producer of the best-selling digital media software in the world, today introduced Backup MyPC Deluxe 6, the easiest way for consumers to preserve, protect and restore their critical data and precious digital media. With many new features and enhancements, additional device support, and greater reliability, Backup MyPC Deluxe is firmly at the forefront of PC data protection.
Widely available at major retail stores in Europe for the first time, Backup MyPC Deluxe is designed to allow users to spend the minimum amount of time scheduling backup tasks while providing the maximum protection for their PC and important personal data such as treasured family photos and precious music collections. Built-in scheduling allows consumers to create a backup schedule that is convenient and meets their specific needs, and users can be secure in the knowledge of complete data integrity and safety using the 'Compare After Backup' feature.

This feature helps users define the appropriate backup strategy using easy-to-follow, step-by-step instructions. The addition of a helpful start up wizard menu in Backup MyPC Deluxe 6 directs the user in how to backup their data, removing confusion for first-time users, and provides immediate access to all the product functions. Safety conscious users can also create a Disaster Recovery plan to protect their PC, and in the event of a major PC crash, quickly and easily restore their operating system and data.
Backup MyPC Deluxe's comprehensive device support gives consumers the flexibility to use practically any storage device from CDs and DVDs, to tape and external or secondary hard drives. Powerful advanced features include password protection to secure valuable data discs, the ability to backup to network devices, and greater options for the user when choosing to back up their PC's system state, setting up media append overwrite options, and customising their backup media by creating media names.
Orlogix, a pan-European publisher of utility media, will publish and distribute Backup MyPC in co-operation with Roxio.
