Qurio Launches First Ever “Instant Photo Website in a Box”

Release Issued by Qurio:

Puts the Power of a Complete Digital Photo Web site Directly on Your PC

Cary, NC – December 6, 2004 - Qurio Home Photo Center, digital imaging software with the fastest photo sharing on the Internet, today announced the release of Qurio 1.3, the first digital imaging software to put the power of a complete photo Web site directly on the PC.

Qurio 1.3 transforms the home PC into a complete photo Web site that allows consumers to instantly share pictures over the Internet, edit and organize their entire photo collection, get high-quality prints, and create photo gifts--all with the control and security of their own PC. Qurio’s easy-to-use software uses a basic point and click interface that even a beginner can quickly master.

Rick Thompson, a vice president at Qurio explains, “While much of digital imaging has been complex, Qurio’s solution is simple: put the power where the pictures are. People keep their pictures on their PC, so naturally, that’s where they want to work with them. Qurio’s first release included a complete suite of editing and organizing tools, and featured the innovative Qurio Instant Photo Server that allowed people to share thousands of high-resolution pictures instantly, right off their own hard drive. Qurio 1.3 adds complete photo gift-making capabilities and provides users with all the benefits of a complete photo Web site. Its biggest advantage being that it runs directly on the home PC, keeping the user in control of their images and increasing speed and convenience.”

While Qurio is a powerful desktop application, it is very easy to use. Qurio has an intuitive, point and click user interface. There is no need for advanced Web or Internet skills in order to share your albums online. Qurio takes a folder of pictures and automatically transforms it into an album that can be presented online. Invitations to friends and family are linked to your email program so you can use your existing contact lists. Guests simply click on a link in your email and their browser presents your album.

The Qurio 1.3 lineup of new products includes the Qurio Mini Photo Book, a 5 ½” square, 20-page, professionally bound soft cover book that retails for only $9.95. This pocket-sized book holds up to 96 pictures, presents captions on each page that tell a story, and only takes about 30 minutes to make. The Qurio Mini Photo Book, available now, could make a perfect last minute holiday gift.

Qurio is also adding photo gifts such as: puzzles, coffee mugs, playing cards, T-shirts, sweatshirts, tote bags, and photo canvases to its product line. All of these photo gifts can be easily made using Qurio.
