Snap it Up with HPs Mini Photo Lab

• Direct Photo Printing from Memory Cards
• Leading Printing, Scanning and Copying technologies
• HP PhotoREt IV for Outstanding Photo Quality

LONDON, 16 June, 2003 – HP today announces a new addition to its award winning consumer All-in-One range, the compact HP PSC 2175. Designed with the family, students and home office users in mind, the HP PSC 2175 with memory card slots for direct photo printing, makes short work of any printing, scanning and copying needs. And when combined with an HP digital camera, computer, photo papers and ink, it becomes a digital dark room that puts you in total control of your photography.

Perfect for all digital imaging enthusiasts the HP PSC 2175 benefits from the option of HP's PhotoREt IV six-ink print technology*. The optional HP No.58 Photo Inkjet Print Cartridge delivers more than 1.2 million colours that accurately reproduce natural skin tones and vibrant shades to ensure your photos rival any from a high street photo lab.

"Competition in the All-in-One market is hotting up as manufacturers try to tap into the consumer's ever-rising interest in digital imaging," said James Guion, HP Consumer All-in-One Category Manager. "HP All-in-Ones are constantly ground-breaking as we seek to wow our customers. Products not only have to offer increased functionality from direct photo printing to high quality scanning, but they need to look good in the home. At HP we are in the enviable position of being able to meet these needs without compromising on product quality, and with the best paper and ink technology available we are further improving results for the consumer."

Photo functions: By supporting Sony Memory Stick, Compact Flash, Secure Digital, Multimedia and SmartMedia memory cards the HP PSC 2175 allows you to print photos directly from your digital camera, without switching on your PC.

HP's exclusive HP Photo Proof Sheet enables you to print selected photos: Simply insert your memory card, press the proof button and your thumbnail proof sheet will be printed. Mark the photos you want to print, how many, the size and paper type with a dark pen and place the proof sheet onto the flat bed scanner. Once scanned, the selected photos will be automatically printed. You can even choose whether you want to print borderless 10 x 15cm prints or more traditional looking 20 x 25 cm prints with borders.

Scanning and copying: In addition to its photo lab qualities the HP PSC 2175 is the perfect desktop scanner and copier. With up to 1200 x 2400 optical dpi and 48-bit colour, the HP PSC 2175 allows you to produce high quality scans of documents, traditional photos and even 3D objects at the touch of a button. The sophisticated copying functions enable you to produce up to 18 copies per minute in black or 13 copies per minute in colour and up to 50 copies from an original document. You can also reduce or enlarge these copies by 50 - 400% if required.

Software: The HP PSC 2175 includes a selection of HP software to help you with any project, large or small.

• HP Director allows you to access status information and on screen help, as well as viewing and changing settings for print, scan, copy and maintenance functions
• HP Photo and Imaging software (including HP Photo & Imaging Gallery and HP Instant Share) helps you to capture, edit and share images and documents. It also coordinates the functions of any HP digital camera or scanner used with it
• HP Memories Disc Creator allows you to create a photo slide show that can be viewed on a computer or TV screen

Additional features:
• Fast print speeds of up to 18 pages per minute (ppm) in black and up to 13 ppm colour
• 100-sheet input paper tray and 50-sheet output paper tray
• USB connection to PC and Mac

Pricing and availability:
The HP PSC 2175 is priced at £199 (inc. VAT) and is available immediately from selected retailers.
