Released by Canon:

Canon Digital EOS 1D and EF Lens promotion

Customers will receive £300 cash back when they purchase the Canon Digital EOS 1D digital SLR with any EF lens in the Canon range

Canon, leader in photographic and imaging technology, is pleased to announce a new promotion which will enable customers to get £300 cash back when they purchase the Canon Digital EOS 1D with any EF lens in the Canon range. The promotion begins on 15 June 2003, and will run until 31 December 2003*. Customers will be able to claim their £300 cash back by completing a voucher in-store, and sending it, together with recent* proof of purchase to the Canon FREEPOST address detailed on the reverse of the voucher. Canon will then credit £300 directly to the customer's bank account.

"With the ability to capture eight frames per second at full resolution, the Digital EOS 1D is one of the world's fastest digital SLR cameras," said Malcolm Hills, Head of Canon Consumer Imaging in the UK. "This, plus the fact that any picture taken on the EOS 1D can be sent around the world within minutes, makes it the ideal camera for photographers who need accurate, high-speed image capture."

The Digital EOS 1D has a continuous shooting speed of eight frames per second in either Single Shot or AI Servo mode and can sustain this for 21 frame bursts. The high resolution XL CCD uses 4.15 Megapixels to create a true 11.7 MB file in a photographic 2:3 aspect ratio. It also boasts 45-point area auto focus, 21 zone metering, familiar EOS ergonomic layout and the camera's renowned toughness and durability. The shutter has been tested to 150,000 exposures.

* Customers will be able to claim the £300 cashback until 15 February 2003, as long as both the EOS 1D and EF lens were purchased between 15 June 2003 and 31 December 2003.
