New consumer digital camera at under £200
A compact digital still camera with 2.0 effective megapixels, the Coolpix 2000 is the most accessible model of the Coolpix digital camera lineup. The extremely easy-to-use Coolpix 2000 is designed to meet the needs of the growing number of consumers who are seeking an ideal introduction to digital photography. The Coolpix 2000 will be available in June with an SAP of £199.99.
This is Nikon's first sub £200.00 digital compact and it adds depth and strength to the Coolpix range. The camera will appeal to people who have a keen interest in enjoying the many benefits of that digital brings, such as printing, e-mailing, online photo-sharing but who find the prospect of digital photography intimidating. It's also the ideal camera for anyone who just wants the convenience of point and shoot photography in a digital format.
The 3x Zoom-Nikkor lens - focal range 5.8-17.4mm (equivalent to 38-114mm in 35mm [135] camera format, assures image quality, and an additional 2.5x digital zoom enables a wide range of photo opportunities. The 2.0 effective megapixel sensor and Nikon image processing ensures images with impressive color, contrast and clarity.
The simplified, ergonomic design of the Coolpix 2000 makes it easier than ever to enjoy the benefits of digital photography. Auto mode gives point and shoot simplicity and the 5 Scene Modes allows beginners to shoot with the confidence that they will achieve optimal image results for a range of situations.
Digital photography does not stop with the camera: to ensure simple transfer of images to the computer, the Coolpix 2000 sends pictures to the computer with a single-button, and the Small Picture function makes reduced-size copies in-camera that are ideal for e-mailing or Web posting.
