Last month’s Digital Photography Show held in Westminster, London and sponsored by What Digital Camera magazine (WDC), has been declared a big success.
Despite extremely wet weather and fears about terrorist attacks on London, the one day show attracted over 2,000 visitors and some exhibitors reported that their special show offers quickly sold out.
"This proves once and for all there is the demand for a dedicated digital photography show to take place in the UK," commented Simon Joinson, WDC editor.
Exhibitors included HP, Fuji, Nikon, Minolta, Olympus which gave the first public UK airing of its new E-20 digital SLR, Pentax, Ricoh, Samsung, Sony and Kyocera. Lexar, Minds@Work and Nixvue were also there, as was Camera World. Apart from the stands, guest speakers gave talks on various digital camera topics.
The show was quite a modest affair this time, but we are promised that when the show returns next year, it will be bigger and better.
