Micron Technology is an established name in the memory manufacturing industry. Its memory upgrade division, Crucial Technology, has - some might think belatedly - added Compact Flash products to its range. The boom in digital cameras is one of the prime reasons for Crucial’s move.
"At Crucial we pride ourselves on giving our customers the quality memory technologies they need, at inexpensive prices," said Roddy McLean, Crucial's European Marketing Manager. "Now that handheld electronic devices and digital cameras are so popular, expanding Crucial's product line to include CompactFlash is a logical step."
Prices look competitive - 128MB for £53.09 inc.VAT and shipping, for example after 10% discount for ordering online. To think I paid roughly the same for a 64MB card in Tokyo just three months ago! Currently, 128MB is the range-topper at Crucial.
