Kodak has started to ship its DX3600 digital camera. Originally announced back at the end of April, the DX3600 is the up-market sibling of the DX3500, which has been selling since then.

For an extra £50 over the £299 DX3500, the DX3600 gets a 2X optical zoom lens and a video clip shooting option. Otherwise, the cameras share much the same specification. That includes a 2 megapixel CCD sensor, ultra-simple (and basic) picture taking controls, 8MB internal memory, a Compact Flash Type I slot, a USB to PC docking station and Kodak’s EasyShare system for copying pictures from the camera to the PC, plus options to put pictures on the Web, send via email or get printed using an online service.
