Stylish new HP ScanJet 3570C budget scanner | |||

HP’s new ScanJet 3570C is a slide and negative compatible A4 flat bed scanner. Unlike its predecessors, the 3570C is compact and stylish and the illumination for the transparency media adapter (TMA) is built into the lid rather than being a relatively cumbersome separate unit. A maximum optical resolution of 1200 pixels per inch means the 3570C has a relatively modest specification that places it at the low to mid range. However some interesting software is bundled, including OCR, scan to CD and scan Web utilities. HP Memories Disc Creator software is also included. This can be used to compile a multimedia show that can be recorded onto CD and played back on a PC or a DVD player. We’re expecting the ScanJet 3570C to be priced at around £125 inc.VAT. HP has a solid, if perhaps uninspired reputation for its flat bed scanners but the 3570C is just a hint at some interesting new scanner models yet to be revealed by HP. Below is HP’s official information release on the ScanJet 3570C: All information regarding this product is under embargo until June 24, 2002. Overview: The easy-to-use HP Scanjet 3570c scanner, enables sharing and enhancement of photo-quality projects. Users can easily scan 35 mm negatives and slides, using the built-in lighted adapter; and the four, convenient, one-touch buttons make creating and sharing digital slide show projects, fun and simple. Scan photos, text, graphics and 3D objects; then print, e-mail and post to the Web. Highlights:
