HP Photosmart 320 digicam targets entry level | |||||

Some 2 megapixel cameras still cost over £300. The new HP Photosmart 320 has a provisional Euro price tag of €249 and we estimate the UK price should be under £200 inc.VAT. However, cost cutting is evident with the 320. The lens is a non-zooming optic and there is no built in lens protection. No removable memory card is supplied, though 8MB of internal memory is featured and a SD memory card slot is provided. Like its more expensive 812 and 720 siblings, the Photosmart 320 enables the user to assign email addresses to selected pictures before they are transferred to a host PC. These photos can then be automatically emailed to their chosen recipients. Again, the standard £59 Photosmart 8881 docking station is an option for the 320 and is supplied with a set of four AA NiMH rechargeable batteries.
