Classic look HP Photosmart 720 digicam | ||||
By Ian Burley | ||||
We’ve seen one of the new Photosmart 720 digicams and its two tone black and silver styling is very striking compared to the current trend of all-over silver or metal alloy finish. The 720 is a 3 megapixel model, has 16MB of integrated memory and there is a Secure Digital (SD) memory card slot. The 3x optical zoom lens is not branded Pentax, like on its sister camera, the Photosmart 812. But continuing the feature introduced with the 812, an optional docking station is available for simplified picture to PC transfer and battery charging. The camera takes four AA alkaline batteries or NiMH rechargeables and a set of the latter is supplied with the 8881 docking station.
A Euro price tag of €449 has been provisionally assigned to the Photosmart 720. We estimate the UK price will be between £300 and £350, inc.VAT, though no confirmed UK pricing has been released yet. The Photosmart 8881 docking unit, which is shared by the 812, 720 and 320 Photosmart camera models, has a confirmed UK price of £59 inc.VAT Below is HP’s official information release on the new Photosmart 720: HP Photosmart 720 Digital Camera All information regarding this product is under embargo until June 24, 2002.
