Epson to launch ‘advice’ Web site

24th January - 2002
By Ian Burley

Epson is launching an advice Web site for digital photographers at the beginning of next month. Called www.photoexpert.co.uk, the new site aims to give practical advice on how to get the best results from users’ digital camera and printers.

The site will all also act as a source of information about events, feature competitions and articles written by professionals about their experiences. Epson also says we can expect product reviews, although how impartial and wide-ranging these will be should be interesting.

A potentially useful section promised is a selection of online tutorials for practical help in ironing out particular problems, from lighting and composition to tips on special effects and getting the best output.

www.photoexpert.co.uk will be available in 7 languages: English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and Dutch.

Digital Photography Now welcomes the introduction of a new resource to help digital photographers get the best out of their equipment. But the question has crossed our minds; will such an offering, from a leading commercial player in the marketplace, be journalistically balanced?
