Re: Fortnightly Salon Competition No. 6

    My first entry....

I suppose I should call this "I wish...."... or, "she wishes!"

Sorry it's a bit dark - taken at Madame Tussauds, daughter of a friend visiting from America. She also wanted one taken with Robert Mugabe - but her parents would NOT approve of that one!

Re: Fortnightly Salon Competition No. 6

This overexposed and somewhat blurred shot was taken about a hundred years ago (early 70's acutally) with my first 35 mm camera, a Voigtlander rangefinder. I was sitting on the front step loading a roll of film when the neighbour's son (on the left) and his cousin saw me and wanted their picture taken. As soon as I pointed the camera at them, they started laughing and didn't stop for about five mintues.

I do hope that I am not too late with my study in concentration. This is a chinese woman concentrating hard on her chores on the banks of the Lesser Gorges a tributary of the Yangste.

                          Dear All,

A lot of really great entries and picking a winner has been very hard. However for me the winner is Autumn with the picture "youngest grandson having a few tears". I love the eye contact and the raw emotion being demonstrated.

2nd place goes to Andrew Thatcher for the really creative use of lighting

and 3rd place to Bearface. Great composition and extremely sharp.

Thanks all. I look forward to seeing the next competition.

                          Best Regards

                          Josh

Splendid salon and excellent choice, Josh.

Wonderful picture from Autumn. He's such a cute little chap and with such a nice hat too - just like our middle son used to be, right down to the chubby cheeks, sad tears and the ever-present hat.
