Question Discrimination by Digital Projectors

Ok the title is slightly "tongue-in-cheek" but here's the issue and a question.

A digital projector with, for example, 1024x768 resolution only shows a portrate at 768x590.

Has anyone seen any projector mounts that can rotate about the axis of the lens so that both portrat & lanscape images can be projected at the same resolution.

It was so simple in the old days with slides...

If I understand you correctly, you are asking for a device which would allow the projector to be rotated through 90 degrees so as to show an unrotated portrait file? Have to say I've never seen such a thing. Portrait shots were always a problem even with slides, the same principle would apply in so far as you have loads of space either side of the image on screen. You would likely also have some cropping at the top and bottom of the screen

Not seen anything like this. Seems you may have found a niche market!

It's probably not very practical for larger projectors, but a 90 degree rotate for some kind of desktop mount for smaller projectors seems quite feasible to me. Off you go to the patent office
