You can tell it's not an Oklahoma government project -- too many people are working. On the other hand, it could be, if that person is getting 5 checks for 3 people's work. (LOL)

Hello All!
Here is my entry for A work In Progress I call it " Men At Work" My husband was helping his friend change a ball on the bumper hitch. They were so engrossed in conversation they never even knew I was taking pictures of them!Oh by the way my hubby is the one on the left!

Autumn,

I was just trying to make an (hopefully) amusing comment about Bearface's five-figured photo of the work in progress at his studio. Three poses were working and two were not. It is rather typical of what I observe when driving past groups of governmental workers (road repair, construction, water works, etc.) -- maybe half of the people are working and half are standing/sitting around. Rather like the old joke: How many engineers does it take to change a light bulb? 5 -- one to hold the bulb and four to turn the ladder. My apologies for causing the confusion.

Joe

I understood what you meant, but I did not realise you were referring to Tim's fantastic picture. I thought you had just posted your entry and I couldn't see it.

Aha, I see what you meant now. My apologies, but I hadn't figured you were referring to my shot in particular

I should point out that the version of me at the back of the room was engaged in a very serious business telephone conversation (and therefore hard at work) and the "me" in the orange chair appearing to read the newspaper was in fact carrying out critical research.....or something

Re: DPNow Salon Competition No 10

Just returned from a recent trip to South America. This is a 'tongue in cheek' interpretation of 'Work in Progress' as I am sure this guy will get round to completing whatever he has to complete! This was taken in a boulevard park in Buenos Aires, Argentina

Re: DPNow Salon Competition No 10 - The Winner!

Not too many entries, but still a difficult choice to make.

I have to declare Bearface the winner with his multi-self-portrait, but it only beat the 'Horsetail Plaiting' and Stephen's diptych in my ratings because it was so obviously imagined in the frame of the competition theme, otherwise I would have had to declare a three way tie!
Congratulations to you all.

Roger

Congratulations Bearface - very imaginative and well done. You will have Memory Cards coming out of your ears.

I look forward to seeing what you have in store for us next time.

Re: DPNow Salon Competition No 10

Oh no

Thanks Rog. Obviously I'm pleased to win (who wouldn't be?), but having only recently won the previous salon, I'm also a bit embarrassed. I thought there were at least five very strong images which met the brief perfectly and so I'm genuinely surprised.

I've already got in mind what I consider to be a good, fair theme for the next salon. Give me until tonight (BST) to mull it over a bit more
