Did you hear about... Talk about (almost) anything, within reason and it can - even should - be about something not directly related to photography.

Well we can all look for way's to improve, and perhaps the commercial channels could also improve and try and catch up and match the BBC's high standards.
Especially the channels on Cable & Sky that make no programs just recycle old terrestrial stuff asking the viewer to pay all over again by subscription.
Its interesting though that the publishing arm of the BBC through Universal is doing sterling business selling DVD's of those old programs for us to watch over and over despite many being availble on cable.

I'm beginning to think the subject is reaching the stage were we have said as much as we can without repeating it all over again.

We must just agree to differ.

Yes. And what is also interesting is that ITV are making good programmes (that the BBC force us to pay for), and then the BBC's publishing arm makes more money by selling them on as DVDs and to the US. Such as Primeval.

Talk about having your cake and eating it. The Beeb wins at all turns of the road.

Still, they've got F1 back. So, in a spectacularly desparate bid to bring this thread back around to the original topic, I say that's at least one good reason for the licence fee!

Ta, daa..!
