Countryside Birds

A great time to be out and about in this surprising spell of weather - this time last year it was very cold and wet.
This recent spell of warm and sunny weather has surprised many including the wildlife and me.

Pheasants male

Pheasant female

Kestrel

Red Kite

Olympus OM D EM1 mkll coupled with 1.4 converter

Re: Countryside Birds

The Pheasants look really good in that light but the Kite takes the prize - cracking shot

Re: Countryside Birds

Thanks for the kind comments.

Sometimes the birds get close to hand but not often enough, they are wary creatures and will peel away as soon as we are noticed - the trees give us some cover but quite often we are walking paths or lanes - it's a healthy hobby with the gear we carry on occasions.

Today I was playing with a new toy and the kites kept fairly high - Anne got a cracker - I missed it.

First pic in the can whilst playing with settings:

Olympus E-M1X + 12-100 lens - A.mode -f5.0 - ev -0.7 etc

Look forward to some more results. But I'm not tempted(I seem to remember saying this to you and Anne at SRS when we picked up our 12-100's about the Mk2)
