I am a mother and grandmother who's looking forward to semi-retirement, which hopefully means more time to spend on photography and travel, and less time tethered to the office. I have been interested in photography since high school when I was editor of the newspaper and took some of the photographs for stories myself. I began shooting with a meterless YashikaMat 124G and eventually learned how to develop black and white film, at which point I was off to the races with my first personal camera, a Canonet rangefinder. After the Canon was stolen, I got a Petri Racer (another little rangefinder), and eventually got a wonderful Canon FT with a brilliant 50mm f1.4 lens (used, of course). Those were the days when almost everybody had a 35mm camera with a 50mm lens. As time has wagged on, I moved to Nikon for the autofocus revolution, culminating with the wonderful F4 and an assortment of Tokina ATX and Nikon glass, which I still have.
