A new forum category for appreciating and discussing the stories that pictures convey
When we had the old DPNow forum, it was simple: a Critique board for people seeking thoughtful and serious feedback on the technical side of their photography and a General board for, well, general feedback on other pictures.
The Photo Critique board on this, the new DPNow forum, has been a great success, but there is growing demand for a place in the forum that can accommodate pictures that their owners want to show without primarily discussing the technical aspects of the photography. After all, photos tend to tell a story and this section of the forum is where photographers can tell their stories, through their pictures.
Be warned, if a discussion thread here centres around things like tonality, sharpening, contrast, composition, cropping and suchlike - at the expense of the interest in the subject of the picture, it will be moved to the Critique board. And if a thread on the Critique board looks like it would be more at home here, it, too, will be relocated.
We're starting the Photo story category with just one board to start with - a kind of a catch-all, called Eye of the camera, but as the popularity of the Photo story category develops, we'll look at adding more topic-specific boards. The more Eye of the camera is used the more likely it will spawn new-topic boards!
If you are unsure about anything - post your question and I'll do my best to answer it
