  • Purple Milk Vetch

    I have been photographing some of the more common flowers for the 'what to see' section of my nature reserve website http://fbhh.org.uk. We tend to concentrate on the more exotic and rare and ignore the other species to some extent.

    This is the tiny little purple milk vetch



    and the even smaller Speedwell



    One of the rarer plants is the man orchid - a close look at the 1/2" high flower shows why it is so named

    We're big fans of wildflowers here and we have a section of the garden dedicated to meadow flowers. I especially like Vetch, very popular with bees too
