  • Resting Kestrel.

Two from archives. Dead flat sky didn't help with these two shots. But I was pleased with the detail.

First perched on a tree. But saw me.

Then looked even more grumpy when I caught up with him

Lucky you . I have never photographed one. Always without camera or driving the car when I see them. Jays are another bird I would love to capture. They disappear before I can get my camera ready .
Regards Ron. Live each day as if it was your last. One day you will be right.

Thanks, Ron. Jays have always been a problem for me as well. Have a few snaps of them. But none that I would show.

Thanks, Barr1e. I agree, it is the better of the two images.

I don't think I have ever been up close enough to a wild one to get a shot like that!

This particular Kestrel was a permanent fixture at a local wildlife reserve. It would happily hover and hunt for prey just above your head. He didn't seem to worry about people.
