Well as it's my birthday tomorrow(21 againish, well plus 40) and my daughter made me one of my favorites, chocolate and raspberry loaf





lets try "Cake" for the next salon. Should be plenty about over Christmas.

I'm going to have to do some digging to find a good shot. In the meantime, here's one that's noted for the cakemaker's skill, not my photographic skills. Forty two years ago, my first wife logged her 1000th parachute jump the same time I made my 2000th. A friend surprised us with this cake to commemorate the occasion.

Wedding cake. Yes, that is an alien. This is my nephew and his wife on their wedding day in 2014. I'd been told that the cake was based on the birth scene from Alien, so was quite relieved that it had been toned down a lot!

My second entry, seen in the window of a bakery in the covered market in Oxford - there was also their version of the Sheldonian (in cake) but I didn't get that so cleanly - although I have removed the background of the kitchen.

I take some share of the blame as Christmas and New Year was a bit of a blur and all the sites got neglected. Garry has been doing great, as have all the other moderators but in the end I need to do more! Top of my to-do list is to rev all the websites up this year.
