  • GoPro Quik

With my latest GoPro I was introduced to Quik, a free download. I discovered that you can use it with any photos and I put together a sixty second "slideshow" of a recent trip with it. Fans of Doc Martin will recognize some location shots taken in Port Isaac (Port Wenn). All photos were taken with an iPhone 7.

    Not taken with a GoPro?

I used a Yi 4K Plus action cam on my recent trip to the Far East. It proved very handy for Songkran, the Thai New Year. This is because everyone throws water at each other!

My daughter has also started using a service that links up 2 second video clips throughout the month to make a short video.

Hi Ian, Which service is your daughter using?

The GoPro will take some amazing stills (US Olympic Snowboard Racer Justin Reiter has taken some extraordinary shots with a GoPro) but I like the convenience of the iPhone.

I'm thinking of upgrading from my iPhone 7. I like the 2x optical feature of the iPhone 8 Plus but I'm not sure I want to carry around a phone that big. Conversely, the smaller but pricier iPhone X has that feature. Can anyone share their experience with either of those models?

Interesting about the GoPro slide show download.
