  • Nik Collection now free

In an extraordinary display of corporate generosity Google has now made the Nik Collection software completely free to download. Seem to remember this used to be quite pricy.

Thanks. I have already downloaded it on both my computers. It is used extensively by the top photographers in our Worksop Club, so I have notified our Secretary to circulate the link to others.

Now I have to learn how to use it! It looks good.

Once again thanks for the link.

Now we have had this for a while, I would be interested if anyone uses any of it regularly and if so which modules.

Personally I like the Silver Effects and during use and a few tips from u-tube, etc have found that it is almost infinitely customisable, from frames to mono conversion and vignetting.

Other than that I have only used the other modules spasmodically and am still not too sure of the best ways to use them.

Yes my most used part of this download is the Silver efex, used for all my B/W conversions nowadays.
I like some of the filter effects you can get with Colour efex. great for sunsets etc.
The others I don't really use.

        Still learning though.

Unfortunately I never got it to work for me. It would let me get as far as doing the adjustments then shut down the editor for me.

I found this frustrating so uninstalled it.

            That is disappointing.

I must be missing something here as I'm running it on Windows 10. It may say up-to Windows 8, but most Windows 8 applications work on Windows 10.
