Sean Bike Shoot

Sorry not posted much of late but wanted to wait till I had something a bit different to show. Sean waqnted some new photos and I was happy to help out Loads more on my flickr but I will not bore you so just two for now.
Shot the first with the Fuji X-T2 and the Fuji 23mm lens. Settings iso 200,23mm,F1.4 and 1/640sec. Flash was thw Godox AD 600 unit in an octobox camera left in TTL mode. Second photo was almost the same settings but F2 and 1/400sec.

So pleased there are more on your Flickr album.

It is good, as usual to be able to see the comparison between the Mono and colour.

Both colour and mono look good. But for me, I feel the mono works best, as it creates a moody atmosphere which the images portray.
I also like the idea of the oof motorcycle in the foreground.

So a few months ago Sean came to me for some photos he wanted for a local magazine. I was more than happy to help out so we did the shoot one Sunday afternoon and kept it under wraps till today, when the magazine was published. To say I was a bit shocked to have two full pages images and then two smaller ones printed. I have posted the colour ones on my flickr page but do prefer these b/w ones.

That's a feather in your cap for sure.

The photos look great. Sean looked like a pro at modelling, which I guess must also help.

Will check the Flickr album tonight. But I'm sure I will like them all.

I am well chuffed that's for sure. I thought maybe one or two small photos on one page but not two full page photos and then two small ones in the write up. Yes Sean has done this for a while so that makes it a lot easier and also quicker. It was all over in about half an hour.

Just looked at your Flickr photos of Sean.

I agree with you. I also prefer the mono shots, although I can understand a magazine wanting colour.

Sean can look quite intimidating, which works better in mono.

Yes they wanted colour and in the mag he is using outfits from a local shop who wanted them in colour for the advert side of things. Yes he is good in front of the camera and knows what he wants from the shoots.

Yes I try to if I can. Depends a lot on what I am shooting I guess. For my more basic stuff I like to shoot with Eloise if I can. I started asking for people to come forward to help me on facebook but it was very slow. I then had a think about and now pay people for their time. This can work out well as I then can sort of pick who I want to shoot with on different ideas. This is how I met up with Freja and Luella. So working with those three if I can for different projects. Now for the boudoir shoots its a whole different ball game. The above three ladies are all to young in my eyes to do that style of shoot and I would not dream of asking them to do one. I put shout outs on FB for those and when and if someone gets back to me then we will go from there. This is how I did the last boudoir shoot with Sue. She first did a basic shoot in the park and was keen to push herself and do something different which is how the boudoir shoot came about.

Not at all. In fact you have answered the question that I was going to ask. Which was how you go about, getting the models for your photo shoot.

It isn't an area that I have delved into, so find it very interesting how you have contacted and worked with the models.

I often look through your Flickr photos, and enjoy seeing them.
I think because my area of photography is wild life and macro. I find other areas of interest.

Hi Garry

No problem happy to answer any question. I started a group years ago on face book just looking for people to shoot with which worked very well to start with. Then as time went on it got harder to find people with free time after all we all lead busy lives nowadays. This is when I met up with Eloise who loves to be in front of the camera so that worked really well for a while but again I knew a time would come when she would get tied up with a busy lifestyle so I started looking for more people to shoot with. This is when I felt it only fair that people would get paid for their time. Trust me it not a load of money but it gives them a bit of pin money and also they get the photos to use on social media (not hard copies).

I have been lucky in my time finding models and when I say models really they are just people willing to help me out I have made a few long time friends and like to shoot with them whenever I can.
