  • Leaves before and after

Two years ago my wife and I took a cruise on the Rhine and stopped at the town of Chochem in the Moselle Valley. We were walking on a street when I spotted this display of leaves covering a wall. The first shot is unedited. The color is flat and there's a conspicuous dead leaf.

I then selected a section to clone

Finally a significant bump in saturation (maybe too much?) rendered a significant departure from the original. This shot has sold very well at craft fairs.

If you're not living on the edge you're taking up too much room.

The significant bump in saturation obviously influenced the sales so that makes it ok

Nothing wrong with a boost in colour, in fact if you look around you everything is rather drab and faded really, the eye & brain likes to see thing's different and out of the norm, trick is not to over do it, for an abstract type shot this is just about right for me ;-)

As the bump in saturation worked well for you then its okay indeed!

Very well done! Which editing software are you using?

            Photoshop Elements.

            Enhance
            Adjust Color
            Adjust Hue/Saturation
