  • Just received a Samsung NX20 to evaluate

A Samsung NX20, the top of the Samsung NX range, has arrived at the DPNow office and the battery is charging.

This is an interesting compact system camera that looks like a small DSLR. It has a 20 megapixel Samsung APS-C sensor and features integrated wireless LAN. The camera can be controlled wireless using a smartphone.

Do we have any Samsung NX users here?

It's a system I know litte about and it would be interesting to see how it compares to Micro Four Thirds.

The EVF is also not as high resolution as some of its competitors and the camera is frequently locked out by the buffer when shooting in RAW. It's surprising that the card slot is next to the battery on the base-plate, as in a compact camera.

Positive points: the articulating AMOLED screen is excellent and image quality looks promising. The i-function mode (switching the focus ring to a mode-adjuster) is genuinely useful, especially as there is only one adjustment wheel on the main body. The camera is very compact and yet comfortable to hold.
