With the snow making driving less than risk-free, I decided to walk to the office along the Grand Union Canal in Apsley this afternoon. I took an Olympus E-30 and a Zuiko Digital 300mm f/2.8 (600mm full-frame equivalent) lens with me to take a few snaps along the way.

I was taken by surprise with this swan landing (and I missed the take-off as well!) so it's not as sharp as I would have liked, but it does convey a little of the drama.

Fantastic - especially because it has a sort of unintentional 'cartoon style' humour in the way the swan is 'walking'.
