Trevor White, a DPNow stalwart from New Zealand and a great landscape talent, gets this spacious scene from Rakaia, on the east coast of the southern island of New Zealand, not far from Christchurch. This picture is not just a simple wide angle view.
Trevor explains: 'The images that make up this photo were multi-exposed and each was
treated as a HDR image (subdued). They were then stitched together. Other
minor editing was carried out and this is the result. When taking the photos the clouds were quite interesting but it was the processing that gave
them the extra depth.'
The picture does have marvelous depth and there is so much detail to explore. The natural wonder of this interesting landscape has been portrayed in an almost three dimensional way.
Trevor is better known on DPNow by his user name: ddigit.

Superb image Trevor - I am speechless. I love your NZ landscape images and always look forward to your contributions.
I was very interested in how you achieved this image, but of course without the original shot there would have not been anything! There are very few I would hang on my wall, but I would hang this one.
