2010 Spring Challenge!
With profound apologies to everyone snowed-in in Northern Ireland, Scotland and the borders, and to our southern hemisphere friends, I'd like to set this year's Spring challenge
OK, my example above is simple and not very challenging, but I'm sure you can do better!
There are no prizes or anything, let's just enjoy a stream of beautiful images of Spring - all I ask is that they are taken THIS year!

Re: 2010 Spring Challenge!
Nice picture Roger - apple blossom maybe?
If taken in May that was last year; should really be this year for the challenge
No apple blossoms here yet!

No Ian, it is May blossom, or Blackthorn, usually appears in March or April, this was taken three hours ago!

Re: 2010 Spring Challenge!
Spring time... the lake is still frozen, but the ice is starting to melt. It is melting just enough that the water sitting on top of the ice has picked up the reflection of the clouds in the sky.

That is so beautiful and although I think I shall post a spring flower, it is so nice to see spring in another part of the world.

Thanks Autumn! I always have the pleasure of viewing everyone else's photos from Ireland, Scotland and beyond.... so it's nice to be able to share my view of the world in return! That's the beauty of photography!

I really must get over to Canada one day Choosing where to go in such a vast country would be a real headache though!

To show you southamerican or just Argentinian spring, I will have to wait until next september So I am sorry to tell you that I have no pictures for this challenge. Best regards to all, Horacio

Ian - you've not heard the saying "Ne'er cast a clout til May is out" ?
That blossom is absolutely beautiful - nothing round here yet, although the prunus is beginning to bud.
And oh! that lake is absolutely gorgeous.

Good on ya, Mike. He who dares, eh.
I'm about the same. Slithered out into the garden yesterday, managed to slither along the sodden earth without falling over or dropping the camera. It was a close thing once or twice but thanks to a trekking pole and a trellis I managed to stay upright and stagger along to a small patch of blue that was pushing it's way upwards.
Not very good but it's the best I could get without breaking my neck (or the few battered blooms still reasonably clean).
Here's a Scilla Siberica (Siberian Squill) - Spring beauty.
