  • Yearlings

These 3 are on the farm where we keep our horse, I have been allowed to wander freely and take these. Three of these are bred for racing and even at this age they go like Formula one cars

    Now a rest

    A roll

    And back on my feet

Mike, I just knew this POD was yours before delving further into the thread - I think you've captured the spirit and folly of these young horses well.

        Re: Yearlings

        Hi Jo ,
I think ive developed a habit of standing in fields I must have taken over 300 photos of horses over the last 2 weeks, all doing various things or nothing as the case is sometimes.
What I am learning is what people expect and percieve as a good picture, ones that I see as not what I wanted, the owners of the horses are pleased with them.
Ive been sitting in fields for hours just waiting for the right moment.............even my other half who rides reckons Im getting obsessed
" the ears arnt right" "the leg is in the wrong position" "on the wrong slope in the field"
oh well back to landscapes then
        Thanks for looking

Self critique is the harshest of all.
I think they are all wonderful photographs
