      Re: First visit

      Hi Ian

Its looks like a Jay to me, usually seen in the woods rather than the garden although I have a couple of Jackdaws (same family) raid my bird table on a daily basis. Good capture and a pleasure to view as usual Pops.

Lucky you Pops, I never ever get these in my garden.

Like the first one. In the second shot is the bird blinking?

Wow - as Mick says 'lucky you'. The first I have seen this year, so thanks for the pic. Nice shot/s.

I especially like the first one. Looks like a fairly young'un too.

We haven't been getting any young ones yet but the adults have been coming back and forth swiping the peanuts for a while - when the young 'Kevins' have allowed them to get near enough. We have some hilarious, very bold and cocky young Kevins (squirrels) this year!

I don't often take shots of the Jays. My greatest pleasure is watching the way they move over the lawns. They move/hop/bounce with such style.

Just lucky I guess Mick. He comes several times a day now and I make sure there are always some nuts for him in the same place.
