Another shoot from the group "dogs"

This is the 3rd shoot from the group and the second time I have been asked to shoot dogs. The owner did not want to be in any of the photos herself but the dogs are fair game.

I hope to be able to do my people shoots in the near future but it's all good fun and has got me out more with the camera over the last week then I have been out in a long time.

That puppy looks so endearing in no 5 Pete! What a shame you didn't get more eye contact? Do you know what kind of spaniel they are? They look to be very high maintenance coat-wise!

Hi JoJo

I believe they are American Cocker Spaniels but not 100% sure. Yes the woman who owns them shows them and did say they are a lot of work but in the short amount of time I was with her I could tell that they mean the world to her.

Thumbs up Re: Another shoot from the group "dogs"

They're gorgeous dogs! Lovely shots too - nice job, especially considering they're black.

The puppies are fantastic. I want one!

Re: Another shoot from the group "dogs"

Thanks Pol

I tried my best still not sure how to show them at their best but liked the background to these.

My wife was in the car like a shot when she knew there would be a puppy to be seen.

If I'd been there I'd probably have tried to swipe one.

I'm certainly no expert but I tend to agree with you about the background. Studio style portraits are nice but it can nicer to see dogs in a natural outdoor environment. They look as though they're enjoying themselves but just stopped for a pant, a pose and a snooze before they take off again.

Re: Another shoot from the group "dogs"

The relationship between the two dogs is father and son. The ladies daughter has the mother of the puppy so it really is a family thing. I also like the background on these for the same sort of reason as you it is nice to see the dogs outside and having fun. The puppy was the better one out of the two the older one did run off a few times while the puppy just sat waiting for his turn.

Re: Another shoot from the group "dogs"

Thanks Caz

It was fun shooting the dogs and I think it's a great spot for the photos wit the dogs. I may even use it in the future for people shoots as well. I just had to put the last one in as it made me smile.

They are obviously well cared for pets and I'm sure the owner was thrilled with your shots.
