I've never actually introduced myself before, or said where I'm from! I'm from Dorset, is anyone else around here living in this beautiful county?

Re: Hello from deepest, darkest Dorset!
Yes, sorry, I'm doing all this back to front, aren't I?I should have done this bit months ago.
Er - about myself? My name's Becky, I'm 31. I was brought up in Swanage, Dorset. Lived in Swansea for ten years, but was still getting homesick so two years ago I moved back to Swanage again. Now we have a little baby, who's very demanding but beautiful!
Photography-wise, I bought my first DSLR in 2007 (a Nikon D40) and upgraded to a D80 in October. Landscapes are my favourite. I've been experimenting with HDR, and created some 'arty' pictures in Photomatix that Amateur Photographer would describe as 'crimes against photography' I imagine, but I like them.
I'd love to get some photos published in a photography magazine, but so far I've only managed to get little ones printed on the 'letters' page and a few in the local paper. I think I need a lot more practice before they'll print sizeable copies!
I'm going to read through more of this thread, because I read lots of people's posts in the competition thread, and some of the others, but I don't know much about where people are from, etc.

Ian
I didnt realise you had freinds in Sherborne, thats where my family are all from (well, Sherborne, and a couple of Yeovil)
Your right, it is a very nice part of the world, and interestingly Sherborne is the only town with two castles!
Yes, Becky, what is your nickname about then?

Yes one of my best mates moved to Sherborne around ten years ago. So not a long term local.
If it means anything, he lives in Kings Road...?

Yes, Ryme Intrinseca is a village very close to Sherborne, actually! I live on the other side of the County though, I just have a fascination with the village name. My sister's taken it a stage further though, and called her daughter 'Trinseca' - we're a bit of an eccentric family.
