Photo critique Here is where you can display your images and seek the comment, advice and, maybe, constructive critique of your work. Only post your images here if you are happy for frank feedback. If in doubt, use the beginners board instead. Only post your comments here if you feel you can make a constructive and polite contribution in response to what is, for some, a leap of faith in exposing their work to your critical comment.

I like this Tom, one of the most challenging images I've seen here in recent months. I think it asks the senses to accept something that they don't really want to. Nicely thought out, well done

Surely you miss the point of what Tom has done here. The visual effect achieved would be lost if it was a portrait image IMHO

Re: Basket Case

Thanks Stephen and Mib2
Low tide and the Thames can reveal lots of thought provoking items. The shot you see here has been rotated 180 degrees. In other words the original had the wheels upwards. I often wonder why I changed as sometimes I feel I should leave things as I first saw them. I would appreciate your feelings on how it looks "legs up".
I feel it does not work at all in vertical format.

I understand what your saying here Stephen, however, in my opinion (humble though it may be ) it jars the senses, as opposed to challenges them.

I personally love the shot, the idea, and the extended exposure, it works brilliantly, however, I too dont like the angle. I think it being flipped upside down would work far better.

As I said though, a great shot!

Thanks so much Ben and it is always interesting to hear the different ways people read images.
