Having ordered the bits for my desktop PC rebuild several months ago (upgrade from Athlon 3800 X2 to Athlon 5600 X2 and increase in memory fro, 2GB DDR to 4GB DDR2, all fitted in a lovely new Asus SLi board) I've finally got around to putting it together and firing it up
I've made the decision to go with 64 bit Windows XP Pro. With 4GB RAM, much of this will be wasted on 32-bit and I understand that 64-bit Vista isn't really 'mature' yet.
I've also got a FireWire 800 PCI Express interface card fitted for optimal memory card performance testing.
I was wondering if there are many others on here who have moved up to 64-bit Windows - any interesting anecdotes. I'm just about to start installing apps. Adobe CS3 and MS stuff should be OK. I'll let you know if anything notable happens (or otherwise!).
