  • Wishful Thinking

I've always regarded "The Old Lighthouse" at Dungeness as being an ugly brute so I never bothered taking photos of it. I was down there a few days ago and the poor thing whispered to me that it had always wanted to be a windmill and it would try to pose nicely for me if I would please take just one shot of him complete with his temporary sails.

So I did - and here it is. The lighthouse that wanted to be a windmill.

That's what's known as being in the right place at the right moment. Well captured Pol.

This lighthouse is the ugliest I ever saw.

It's black, inland and right next to a nuclear power station. It's no longer used as a lighthouse, it's a museum. I've never been inside - can't manage the steps to the top.

That sounds like a good title for a children's book
