Great new addition to the site Ian, and I fully agree with your argument. There has always, it seems to me been conflict over photo formats, film sizes, paper sizes etc. I mean A4? Whats all that about, its a useless size when it comes to printing photo images. Using an average DSLR you have a 3:2 ratio and the only paper that fits it is 6x4" and thats an imperial size Some photo papers were throw backs from the days of plate cameras but 35mm never fitted 10x8 etc. Surely it would be easier these days for paper manufacturers to standardize more on a camera frame format.

Colman's mustard make there millions not from what you eat, but what you leave on the side of your plate. The paper manufactures are doing the same.

Re: Manual Focus: Why did the digital camera masses get overlooked?

I have just had to supply 35 10x8 prints for a client. I was pleased to find that I could buy 10x7 mounts, which for me seems to make sense as this is the correct ratio for the file. When sized to 10x7 @ 300ppi in PS the resulting print fits perfectly. Had I printed 10x8 of course some further cropping would have had to be done
