Photo critique Here is where you can display your images and seek the comment, advice and, maybe, constructive critique of your work. Only post your images here if you are happy for frank feedback. If in doubt, use the beginners board instead. Only post your comments here if you feel you can make a constructive and polite contribution in response to what is, for some, a leap of faith in exposing their work to your critical comment.

And There Were Three Lovely Lassies From ...

Possibly a little dark but further adjustments were beginning to blow the white skirts.
These ladies were scattered in the local park in Lijiang for the tourists delight ... I think.
Critique helpful.

Hi Tom,
I like the composition (I always think odd numbers look best). I also like the contrast of their crisply laundered, bright costumes against the dusty park environment. (What were you doing in Lijiang? Looks to be pretty remote place when I Googled it!)

Jo

What splendid costumes. I think this is just fine like it is. The colour and composition of the ladies dominate the photograph so that the background is not intruding at all. Having said that I love the rich colour of the soil between the ladies and the shadows over on the right. They may be posing especially for tourist but it's still a wonderful shot.
The lady on the left could do with cheering up a bit though, my doesn't she look grumpy

Thanks Jojo and Pops and I'm sorry it's taken me so long to come back.I'm delighted you both enjoyed this shot.
Jojo I was backing in that neck of the woods in October last.
Pops she is indeed a grumpy old hen and that's perhaps the reason for her isolation from the other two.
Thanks again.
Tom
