Photofix Challenge

Has the result of the Photofix Challenge been announced?

I can't find anything about it on this BETA forum and the last announcement on the original forum seems to be on the 31st August when it said that the result would be announced in 'A few days time.'

I was about to ask the same question. Guess there are a lot of votes to count.

Re: Photofix Challenge

Hi all - actually the problem is that not very many people have voted - plenty of people looking, but few are taking the trouble to vote. I'm going to give it another plug, but whatever happens we'll count the votes at the end of the week and publish the result.

If you are reading this and haven't voted, see:

http://dpnow.com/2880.html for the original challenge and:

http://dpnow.com/2950.html for the ten best entries and to vote for your favourites.

Thanks for your patience,

Ian

Re: Photofix Challenge

To be honest the voting form will not work for me. When I click Submit, I am taken to OperaMail which I never use anyway. If I click send on that the email will not go, and reports an error. Surely the voting form should not generate an email should it?

Re: Photofix Challenge

Mmmm, well, it compiles an email containing the details of your vote

But I agree, it's not ideal - we're experimenting with voting methods.

Re: Photofix Challenge

The vote/email system worked ok for me. once i'd submitted the form, the email was generated in OE and it went as normal - to news@dpnow.com

Re: Photofix Challenge

Its odd then that on my system the email defaults to OperaMail. This is not my default email client

Strange??

Maybe you could just copy/paste the email and send it manually by your usual email client?

Re: Photofix Challenge

If in doubt, vote a second time to be sure and we will filter any duplicates out at our end.

Wont work for me either Ian!
How about a temporary thread just for the competition, you could upload the thumbs similar to the critique, and we can all just reply there?
Unless people want their votes to be anonomous.

(My favourite wasnt there to vote on though! ha ha!)

Good idea, Ben - I have amended the sticky post on the subject and linked to it from the original voting form so people can leave there votes there. I can't actually run a forum poll, though, as it can't cope with numbered selections submitted in order of preference.
