  • How about this to boost the DPNow forum?

Get involved in the DPNow Forum and Galleries this month and win an exciting new camera from Olympus!

Regulars here know that this forum is a friendly, inspirational and rich place to post photos, discuss them, share knowledge and to explore the latest cameras and lenses. But it's fair to say that we could do with a boost and an injection of new blood in the form of some new members, so in conjunction with Olympus I can happily reveal that we have a great incentive for new members to sign up and get involved here.

I'll be posting more details later but what it boils down to is that all forum members who post in the forum and add photos to their DPNow galleries during September will go into a draw to win a brand new camera that Olympus has not even launched yet! All I can say is that regardless of what camera you have now, this camera should be a pleasure to own and will be worth several hundred pounds/dollars. It's not a run of the mill cheapie by any means.

So if you have lurked as a non-member here or you have just discovered us - now is the time to get registered and get involved

    More details to follow!

Maybe this is a chance to become one of the first to own the fabled O-MD pro camera!

Just kidding, it will probably be an updated Pen, but certainly very desirable. This news does rather give the game away that there will be at least one new camera at Photokina, but that's no real surprise!

What a great incentive to take part on the forum!

Ok, Ian, I'm in too. Registered, phots posted, is there anything else we need to do to be eligible for the draw for a new camera?

          Thanks,

I've sent out a request to some photographers I know to visit this great site and post some shots.

Thanks Pat - much appreciated. It's going to be a good time to join in here with Photokina just next week - lots of goodies to talk about I'm sure

I'd suspect XZ-2, failed to get the 1st one. Now need only to post an image to gallery to have a change.

Do I really need a new camera? No, but I want one! It would be nice if photographs got more comments, but I guess I am lazy about commenting on pictures too.

Re: How about this to boost the DPNow forum?

UPDATE 1st October 2012 - this competition will no run for one additional month until the end of October 2012.

OK, here are the rules, which will be published separately on the main site shortly:

For your chance to win an Olympus camera that us currently secret, through Digital Photography Now, here are the rules:

                        1. The competition is a Prize Draw.
                        2. To be included in the Draw you need to:
                        a) Be a registered member of this forum (Digital Photography Now Discussion Forum).
                        b) Have participated in discussions by posting at least 10 new responses and/or starting new threads in the forum during September, with the closing of September being midnight UK time.
                        c) Have uploaded at least five new photos to the DPNow members photo gallery by the end of the month.
                        3. New threads and new posts must be relevant, involved, and meaningful to the forum topics where they are posted. In other words posting gibberish just to be eligible for the draw will not be acceptable.

                        4. There is one prize, which will be revealed before the end of September, which is a camera manufactured by Olympus of specification unknown for the time being.

                        5. There is no cash alternative to the prize.

                        6. The prize draw will take place in the first week of October and the winner will be notified and revealed on the same day.

                        7. There is no restriction on the country or residency of any potential winners, but the winner is liable for any taxes or duties that may be applied locally if the camera has to be shipped to a country outside of the UK.

                        8. Availability of the camera depends on normal manufacturing and marketing factors.

                        9. Digital Photography Now reserves the right to alter or modify these rules at any time.

If you have any questions, just let me know!

But the main thing is - use this wonderful resource we have here in our forum and user galleries and maybe, just maybe, you could be in for a big surprise!

                          Terrific incentive!

Silly question about the following requiirement: "Have uploaded at least five new photos to the DPNow members photo gallery by the end of the month.

Would we have to upload photos directly to the Members Gallery or would shots uploaded to specific categories (architecture, sports, etc.) suffice?

Thanks Pat - no - you can post to your own space/albums or the preset categories - there is no difference.
