Surprised to see the headline but a little relieved to know that the films to be discontinued are Velvia 50 and 100F only, although the both were my main films for film cameras. Especially Velvia 50 for long years since its birth in the early 90's, I think.

Other films will also follow in due course of time but hope not any time soon, tho the trend can not be changed.
I confess, I think I still have some Provia/Velvia 100 that I bought from Amazon last year. I mainly use them to make it sure that film cameras are in a good shape. My tendency is that I keep gears once I buy it. Lots of garbagers now.

yoshi, you may have a cupboard full of outdated photographic equipment which you will never use again but surely it is a legacy for future generations of your family and should not be cast out.
In any case I feel sure that you would get a great deal of enjoyment looking through the collection from time to time.

Hi, I keep them in moistureproof cabinets as this is a humid country in summer. The camera cases are periodically dried in the sun and fresh breed (but not in the summer). It takes labor and time.

but it is true that picking up an old camera and a lens and using it even without a film is a sort of joy, especially in winter when I'm not very active photographically.

By having a look at a specific camera or a lens, I can recall where and for what i bought it, so yes, as you say, it is another way of enjoyment. I think I will follow your advice.
