Photo critiqueHere is where you can display your images and seek the comment, advice and, maybe, constructive critique of your work. Only post your images here if you are happy for frank feedback. If in doubt, use the beginners board instead. Only post your comments here if you feel you can make a constructive and polite contribution in response to what is, for some, a leap of faith in exposing their work to your critical comment.
Hi everyone, it's been a while since I offered up anything for critique but I just got a Canon 5D Mark 2 and this is one from my first few frames. I'm delighted to have this wonderful piece of equipment and it's taken so long to save up to afford it but here we are, any cc appreciated.
I love the expression on the face and the sharpness of the eyes. Colours work well for me ie have impact. But perhaps a black and white version would be even better as the red wouldn't be able to distract from the young guy.
One thing that I would change is the top right of the photo. There is something in the back ground that catches the eye and takes you away from the central subject.
Hope this is useful. Congrats on the new camera. Is is a fabulous machine.
Gina, you are off to a flying start with your 5D Mark II with this one Critique-wise the most obvious thing is that blob of out of focus detail in the top right; that could be removed or cropped out. I like the potential in Josh's idea for black and white.
Thank you everyone, hadn't noticed the blob I think I was just smitten with my first shots and the eyes of my cute nephew. Will definitely take on board cc. x
