So lewis has now played that card

A great race for a change in Monaco pity about the last few laps it could have been a corker Ok so not happy about lewis helping to take out mass but I think it was right he was pulled up for it then he pulls this stunt. Looking forward to the next race when they can use drs twice. I know you are not a fan of it Ian and I agree with you in that we could have done without this year but its there so lets see how well it works in the next race

Re: So lewis has now played that card

I couldn't believe it when I heard Lewis say that. I guess it's the easy card for him to play when he's so frustrated that things didn't go his own way.

What's sad is that I thought he'd grown up so well over the last year or so (fighting to regain your crown seems to do that), but this latest outburst was back to old Lewis.

Hopefully it's only a glitch because, right now, Lewis seems to be one of only two people who can challenge Vettel for race wins - but that needs to be done on-track, not with post race rants.

As for the race, Vettel seemed to get all the luck that Button didn't. Button's strategy seemed to be a cert for a final few laps battle - which, I'm sure we would have seen if not for the safety cars and red flag. Button's tyres were so much newer than Vettel's and Button was right to bide his time for a lap or two to see what Alonso would do.

Oh well, it wasn't to be. I think Button needs to swap a bit of his patience for some of Hamilton's zealousness! That way, they'd both improve.

I read somewhere that Vettel's tyres would have been good for the final laps if they had run the distance, so Jenson may have had a tall order on his hands anyway, but of course the race was his had the first safety car period not happened. On the track he did nothing wrong and you have to salute Red Bull and Vettel for hanging on like that. Alonso also made the most of the situation.

I really think Jenson is chipping away at his main weakness, qualifying, and he's so overdue a win - Canada should be a good place to get onto the top step!

That's what would have been great about the final battle. Jenson would think that Vettel's tyres were wasted and, if they held on, that would have been far more entertaining than just seeing Button breeze passed him.

Oh, I do hope so. He seems to need something extra to challenge the top man, but a race win would be nice to see.

If I recall, Canada is not an aero circuit, so the McLarens should close to the Red Bulls, although the Red Bulls do seem to have something extra in qualifying regardless.
