Canon HP problem

Can anyone give me a clue, as to why my HP scanner will not copy directly to my Canon printer when I use the copy facility?

Presently, I have to scan the document into word and print a copy out from there.

Had another problem on my computer while updating software, and went looking for solutions to all the problems on my compter and have now resolved the Canon HP copy problem.
