I have no idea Knowing him it's likely to be the top of the range one as he works for a "Phone" company
As always some excellent thought provoking comments from Ian - Much appreciated.
As for the Ipad - I decided to finally go to the Apple Store at Lakeside to get my hands on one and see if I liked it.
"Have you got one with a camera attachment?"
"We haven't got any in the shop"
"When will you have them?"
"In about Six to Eight weeks"
She tried to sell me a MacBook Pro but wouldn't allow me to put my card into the machine to see what my "calibration" images look like.
I wasn't overly impressed with the glossy screen, so I'm fairly sure I shall be looking at a good spec laptop.
Hi, just saw this thread again. Re the mac book pro. It also comes with a high res non glossy option as well. These are held as stock in store. I picked up a 15inch i7 a couple of weeks ago. I handles LR and PS with raw files very very well. The non glossy screen is fantastic as well.

I've only ever seen the glossy ones... The reflections put me off, but will have go an look at a matt one. Thanks for the tip
No problem. I had one of the apple guys show me the same photographs on both glossy and high res non glossy at the same time. For a photographer I thought it was a no brainer to choose non glossy.
The description of the device sounds very simple and neat to me. However, it needs to be trialled extensively before I would want to fit it to the usb port of my camera. They are obviously looking for financial backers to produce and market the device.
Hi Ray, Yes I agree. It's also interesting for me as a designer to see where the technology is going. We will have to see where they are in 6 months.
With the explosion in popularity of tablets I wonder if in future we will see this sort of capability integrated directly in the camera. You could have complete control over your camera from your tablet which would allow much more user friendly menus for adjusting/playing with the settings. Then you'd have a decent screen to preview the results on afterwards!
