"their pictures were more important than ours were."

"their pictures were more important than ours were."

Do you agree?

An interesting story I came across today.

Originally I learned about it from;

http://www.happynews.com/news/111920...scrap-yard.htm

And that page led me to another one which is same but has transcription.

I always appreciate Happy News.
with heartfelt thanks,
yoshi

No, I don't agree although I can see why they did it at the time. What I don't understand is why they didn't take the opportunity to look before as they'd been given the chance. Still, a nice happy ending and they've probably made a bit of money out of selling their story (sorry, that's the cynic in me!)

Happy ending yes but I do feel for the photographer at the time. He went to the expense and donated his time to photograph the wedding without getting paid.

Actually, I'm pretty sure that photos were taken without a guarantee of a sale. This is often done in other countries, so it's a speculative arrangement. When I went to my cousin's wedding ten years ago in the Philippines there were several un-contracted photographers and videographers stalking the congregation during the service in the church (admittedly a very large church!) and when we exited after the ceremony ended there were some damp black and white proofs waiting for us at the door...

This may even explain why there were no names on the negatives too.

But this is a rather wonderful story, has to be said.

Ian
