New Compact Camers required
My Panasonic TZ20 gave up the ghost and so I need a replacement.
I would like, touch screen, long zoom (30 x), viewfinder if possible. Similar size and weight to the TZ20. One of the newer sensors, but I can't remember which it is!
At one time there used to be comparison sites with all similar types of cameras listed along with their features, but other than doing a comparison on the John Lewis site (4 only) I don't know where to look. I'd like to be able to search on weight, size, zoom, etc. if possible.
Can anyone link me to such a site or offer any advice. Thanks.

Re: New Compact Camera required
Thank you Barr1e. That camera is larger than I would have liked. It is difficult to get a camera to include everything at a price I am prepared to pay. You see, now that I am on my own I wont be travelling like we used to do. However, I have come across Roy's little Canon Ixus 850is, which I had discounted until I saw that second hand on Amazon they are asking £70.95! so I decided to have another look at it. It is definitely the right size for a handbag and whilst it has not got the features like touch screen and large zoom, I am thinking I might just give it a go.
I am going to Croatia shortly and I think it might do for that. I really love my Fuji HS 50 but it is quite heavy, so would need to decide whether to take that as well.
Thanks for your trouble. It has made me read up about several features.

The Canon Ixus 850is looks an ideal little pocket, or handbag camera.
The reviews look good. Hope it goes well for you.
Off to Croatia ! Lovely. What area ? Hope we will see some photos on your return.

Re: New Compact Camers required
Dubrovnik, the Dalmatian Coast & Montenegro.
Roy and I did have a 3 centre holiday in Croatia, Tucepi, Brac and another place near Split. The Krka Waterfalls were lovely.
I am going with the U3A Travel Group. Roy and I had been to Scotland and other outings with the Travel Group, so I will know some people.
Just looking at the Itinerary and my old photos, I think I will take my HS50 with me as well. Heavy, but it has a good feel in my hand and I like it.

I am fortunate to have been to Dubrovnik and Montenegro.
Cruised into both areas. For Dubrovnik. I love walking around the old town.
Montenegro has fjords. We cruised through the fjords and into Montenegro.
A very nice part of the world.
I hope you enjoy your trip.

Re: New Compact Camers required
Audrey. Have you ever checked out the live cams in Dubrovnik and Croatia ?
If not. I can give you a link. There are very good live cams all over Europe now.
I waste hours watching them

Re: New Compact Camers required
We also went on a cruise calling in Dubrovnik and Kope in 2013, so like you I trawled YouTube and walked around the wall with someone with a camera on his hat. It was very good and I didn't get tired at all.
The idea was that we did the walk when we got there, but it was too darned hot, but I did feel as though I knew what it was all about. I am always very grateful for these videos. It's good to be able to get an idea about where one is travelling too.
Thanks.
